Vosloorus, Boksburg, District Taxi Association Business Value Surveys (2023 – 2024)

 Mzuzu Group was appointed to facilitate the on-boarding and Business Value Survey process between the City of Ekurhuleni and VBDTA, as per National Department of Transport directive (with Apex Black acting as the Executor of the Surveys).

 Pursuant to the success and achievement of the objectives of mandate from the National Department of Transport, the City of Ekurhuleni and VBDTA participated in the VBDTA Business Value Surveys Roll-Out Task Team, facilitated by Mzuzu Group in order to agree and manage Inception, Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Closure of the process.

Key Deliverables:

1.          The formulation, facilitation and management of the Business Value Surveys Roll-out Plan;

2.          The overall Project Planning and the Execution (during all Project Management stages as per PMBOK) of the Business Value Surveys Roll-out Plan;

3.          Resolution of potential disputes and misalignments between the main stakeholders (budget and financial implication of the project);

4.          Management and monitoring of the Executor of the Business Value Surveys (Apex Black) to ensure adherence to the timelines;

5.          Finalisation and approval of the Final Business Value Surveys Results Report.

Impact:

 Mzuzu Group's facilitation of the Business Value Survey process ensured the seamless execution of a complex project. Mzuzu Group was instrumental in the achievement of the mandate from the National Department of Transport. The project's success enhanced the city's capacity to understand and support the taxi industry, fostering a more robust public transport system.The project had a significant positive impact on the Vosloorus and Boksburg communities. By hiring EPWP participants from these areas as business value surveyors, the project provided employment opportunities and skill development for local residents. This inclusive approach not only empowered the community but also ensured that the survey process was culturally relevant and effectively communicated with local stakeholders.

 Mzuzu Group provided critical data that informed strategic decisions and policy-making. The project's success demonstrated the importance of independent facilitation in industry transitions and set a precedent for future initiatives, promoting a collaborative and integrated approach to public transport management.
